Safe-Marx has been developed as the first technology ever to point to a safe space during an active shooting. Once Safe-Marx is implemented in schools, each room in the building will have its own designated safe zone. What exactly is a safe zone? The safe zone is an area of the classroom that has been deemed safe. The safe zone would be out of the line of site of shooter in the hallway.
“Safe-Marx was designed to help alleviate the anxiety and fear children and faculty face when it comes to school shootings. With shootings on the rise, we need to come up with better ways to keep our families and communities safe,” Omer Barnes, leading founder of Safe-Marx. “We should all feel comfortable sending our kids to school knowing they are learning in a safe enviornment,” Omer Barnes continued. This concept of the Safe-Marx began being developed in light of the inceasing active shootings across the United States.
The idea was to be able to show a direct specific location of safety for any persons in a classroom during a school shooting. Safe-Marx is installed inside the classroom and pin points the area out of the line of vision for the shooter using laser technology. Once the persons in the room move to a safe zone, the threat becomes very minimal. Safe-Marx is expected to launch this upcoming year. It is currently developed to be posted in classrooms, close to the entrance and can be tested to practice where the safe zone is in any room.
With Safe-Marx laser being used in schools, parents can confidently send their children to school knowing there a safe place for them to be in the worst-case scenarios. “In today’s world, keeping our families safe has to be the priority. Taking every measure necessary to implement safety is where we start,” Omer Barnes on using Safe-Marx in schools.
